How to Grow a Gospel Jam

Since 2006, exponential growth has been occurring since the beginning of the Bluegrass Gospel Jams. The Jams have become an outreach to many surrounding communities. Suzie Solomon, founder of GospelGrass Bluegrass Gospel Festivals, asked me to provide a blurb about what the Bluegrass Gospel Jam is all about. Here is what I wrote and included in our printed Gospel Jam program flyer:

Thank you for coming!
I believe God invented music. The Bluegrass Gospel Jams were created to provide a wholesome family fun activity. We encourage both young and old talents in a welcoming environment. You and your friends are invited. Sometimes you become aware of talents you didn’t even know you had. Sometimes your talents have been stored away in a closet. To help encourage the spread of God’s word through Bluegrass Gospel Music, we have just contacted over 80 Bluegrass Gospel Bands:

“My name is Ron Camerrer. I put on Bluegrass Gospel Jams in Northern Colorado. I am also in the process of developing the National Bluegrass Gospel Jam Network. Home based in Fort Collins, Colorado, we go to surrounding communities and hold a Bluegrass Gospel Jam at just about any place that invites us. We currently go to Lyons, Longmont, Masonville, Pierce, Loveland, Estes Park, Galeton, Northglenn, and many Fort Collins locations. We often bring together a guest Bluegrass Gospel group with a lively Jam afterwards. Many times, we go out after the Jam to a restaurant and mingle and jam some more.
To help cover the costs of the Bluegrass Gospel Jam and to begin expanding the National Bluegrass Gospel Jam Network, beginning in September, I will be marketing my Pursuit of Peace books I authored. I would like to help you also…by both promoting and selling your Bluegrass Gospel CDs at the Jams on consignment. If you are interested, please contact me.
The Bluegrass Gospel Jams are unique. We encourage beginner participation. Audiences are included in the participation. When we play at new locations, we encourage the local folks, musicians and spectators, to join in with us. We also encourage young people participation. If you wish to learn how to play, the Bluegrass Gospel Jam is your place. All musicians started somewhere. Come and join in. I believe that God’s work gets done through the music and the words of the songs we play. I know that’s why we get together.
